Black Widow Ending Explained: What Does The End-Credit Scene Mean?

Black Widow ending Explained: Black Widow just came out and it was brilliant. I really liked the movie even after all the inconsistencies and problems the movie had.

It was a fun watch and was refreshing to see Marvel focusing on story rather than CGI and baseless comedy scenes.

Amidst all this, maybe the best thing Black Widow provided us came at the absolute end of the movie. The end credit scene of Black Widow not only serves as an amazing ending. But might also start something phenomenal in MCU.

The movie was about Natasha, but undoubtedly the character that came out shining was Natasha’s sister Yelena. Because of how well-layered it was.

And it would have been a shame if MCU didn’t do anything with her. But I am glad they are doing it and the end-credit scene sets it up perfectly.

Black Widow ending Explained: What Happens in Black Widow End-Credit Scene?

Half of the Black Widow is set in 2016, right after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Where Natasha is on a run from US Government and meets her sister.

Both Natasha and Yelena went back to their “Red Room” where they were trained as spies. To rescue a group of female assassins who were mind-controlled by ‘Taskmaster’.

Both of them succeeded in doing so and made peace with each other during this. Their interactions were the real gem of Black Widow after David Harbour.

The end credit scene is based in 2023, right after the events of the Infinity War. And we all know that Natasha died during the Infinity War while retrieving the Soul Stone.

Natasha sacrificed her own life to get the stone. Natasha and Clint were ready to sacrifice their lives, but Natasha won the race in the end. It was a really emotional scene.

Now back to the end-credit scene. Yelena is mourning her sister’s death and is in front of her grave. When a woman named Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine appears.

We don’t know who she is, but we can assume she is Yelena’s contractor. She gave Yelena her next target. She gives Yelena a picture of Clint a.k.a Hawkeye. And says that “Maybe you’d like a shot at the man responsible for your sister’s death.”

What Does It Mean?

The end-credit scene of Black Widow will directly come into MCU’s new series “Hawkeye“. Hawkeye is scheduled to get a late 2021 release on Disney+ Hotstar.

And the makers have already confirmed that Yelena will be a part of it. The only thing not confirmed yet is if Yelena will be the main anti-hero of the series or not.

Because at this point you can’t make her a villain. She will attack Clint for sure but Clint might turn her around as he should.

“Hawkeye” series will focus on Clint training his daughter Kate Barton on some of his tricks. Hailee Steinfield will appear as Kate in the show. So, maybe it is time for Clint to retire too and Kate to take charge.

We don’t know anything for sure at the moment. Maybe they will introduce a new villain or maybe Yelena will succeed in her task. Because in the comics, Kate takes charge after the death of Clint.

We will have to wait and see. But one thing for sure that it will be an interesting couple of months.

We will update you as soon as something is announced. So keep an eye on our page. And for news like these keep following Web Series Reviews.
