It’s impossible to be uninformed of JK Rowling’s deep abyss of controversy. In her controversial statements over a year ago, the Harry Potter author neglected the trans community while speaking about women, resulting in a tremendous response. She has been the center of attention for a long time, and many of her Hollywood peers and acquaintances have severed relations with her as a result.
Nothing appears to have swayed JK Rowling, who remains firm in her stance and speaks in the same tone as when she made the prior remarks. Now, the famed novelist has sent out another tweet that has sparked outrage, with some accusing her of being insensitive to the trans community.
“Apparently, under a Labor administration, it will become We Who Must Not Be Named Day,” JK Rowling posted on Twitter in honor of International Women’s Day. It was a series of tweets in which the creator of Harry Potter slammed Scotland’s Gender Recognition Reform Bill. The bill is claimed to make changing one’s gender legally easier.
On March 8, the tweets responded to an interview with Anneliese Dodd, the Chair of the Labor Party in the United Kingdom. She discussed how many conceptions of what comprises a woman exist. “Someone kindly brings the Shadow Minister for Equalities a dictionary and a backbone,” JK Rowling tweeted in response. #HappyInternationalWomensDay”. She praised Joanna Cherry, the Woman of the Year 2022, for the Women’s Rights Network.
This entire scenario has not gone down well with netizens who already despise JK Rowling. They resorted to their social media accounts to call her out, claiming that her current position was incorrect. Here are some examples. A small number of responses have been collated.
