The Imperfects Teaser: Three twenty-somethings were turned into monsters by evil scientists against their will in a brutal experiment. Now they’re on the hunt for the mad-man responsible in hopes of reversing the side effects… but also they’re being chased by a government agency, dealing with college applications, teenage romance, random monster mutations, and all sorts of coming of age-related dramas. Oh, and the government agency has tanks.
The Imperfects Plot
The Imperfects Teaser: The Imperfects, which is written by “Van Helsing” and “Fargo”‘s Dennis Heaton, is the story of three 20-something experiment subjects who become part of an experimental gene-therapy study against their will in a lab. Which turns out to go wrong and they’re able to harness supernatural abilities — including physically transforming themselves through an inherently superhuman ability and telekinesis — that comes with a few chilling side effects.
Now seen as monsters, the group set out to track down the mad scientist who conducted the experiment, all while “being chased by a government agency, dealing with college applications, teenage romance, random monster mutations, and all of the sorts of coming-of-age-related dramas.”
The intense fantasy trailer also shares a glimpse at the cast in action as they come to terms with their newfound supernatural abilities and try to cope with the fact that they’re more than a human. Like the X-Men crew mixed with the “Animorphs” teens — and a lot of fake blood — the new show is basically a superhero series crossed with horror.
