RRR will hit theaters even after a spike in Covid cases in the last few weeks and reimposed civil restrictions. Director S.S. Rajamouli has decided not to postpone the release of his period action drama ‘RRR,’ which is scheduled to release on January 7.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the news saying that the release date of the Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer will not be affected due to the restrictions or Covid-19 Spike.
He wrote, “#Xclusiv… BREAKING NEWS… ‘RRR’ VERY MUCH ON 7 JAN 2022… SS RAJAMOULI OFFICIAL STATEMENT TO ME… No postponement. #SSRajamouli #JrNTR #RamCharan #RRR #RRRMovie #RRRPreReleaseEvent #RoarOfRRRInKerala”.
Chances were to be postponed
The reason behind the postponement of RRR and some other movies is that Delhi Govt has announced the Night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am due to the latest deadly variant of Corona Virus, i.e., Omicron spike in the few last weeks. The Govt. has also limited the Cinema’s capacity to 50%, and the movie creators will benefit only half their business from the movies.
With civil restrictions slowly being reintroduced and cinema halls being either limited to 50% or completely shut down in Delhi under the yellow alert, showbiz seems to be under threat once again, with many producers reconsidering the release of their films across the country.
The Shahid Kapoor-starrer cricket drama ‘Jersey‘ makers have already postponed the film’s release.
As in the official synopsis, RRR is a fictional story. It will feature two legendary revolutionaries, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. We have already seen the look of NTR as Komaram Bheem. So, it will be great once Ram Charan’s looks get revealed.
Komaram Bheem is a Gond tribal leader from Telangana who fought against the Nizam of Hyderabad for the liberation of Hyderabad State. And Alluri Sitaraman Raju is An independence activist and a tribal leader from Andhra Pradesh. He was involved in the Indian independence movement, fought against the British Raj.
